Redefining luxury: Insights from London Design Week 2025
Drawing inspiration from London Design Week 2025, CasaLatina explores the essence of artisanal craftsmanship and sustainable design. Through eco-friendly, handcrafted tableware made with natural materials, we redefine true luxury for the modern home. Discover how our thoughtfully curated pieces—from ceramics to woven homewares—not only bring timeless elegance to your space but also support Colombian and Venezuelan artisans while preserving their rich cultural heritage.
Redefining Luxury Through Craftsmanship

At CasaLatina, we believe that true luxury lies in craftsmanship—a celebration of artistry, cultural heritage, and ecological significance. Handmade creations hold a beauty that transcends aesthetics. Our elegant eco-friendly tableware carries stories shaped by tradition, connection to the natural world, and the skilled hands of artisans.
Luxury today is about creating timeless objects or experiences that honor craftsmanship, embrace natural materials, and uphold sustainability. It’s not just about beauty and exclusivity; true luxury connects us emotionally, offering joy, comfort, and authenticity while telling meaningful stories.
CasaLatina embraces this philosophy by curating and producing beautiful pieces that are unique, durable, and environmentally conscious. From handmade ceramics to woven placemats, every creation celebrates artistry and sustainability.
Lessons from London Design Week 2025

London Design Week 2025 offered invaluable insights into the relationship between traditional craftsmanship, natural materials, and sustainability. One of the standout moments for us was Cordelia de Castellane’s talk, where the Artistic Director of Dior Maison shared insights into how handmade creations reflect artistic excellence and honor nature. Inspired by her book Flowers by Design: Interiors with Soul, Cordelia emphasized the importance of traditional techniques in defining true luxury.
Her admiration for artisan craftmanship and nature highlighted the significance of preserving artisanal skills in a world moving toward fast production and disposable goods. For us, Cordelia’s insights revealed two key lessons:
First, traditional craftsmanship as a foundation for sustainability. Artisanal techniques, passed down through generations, are inherently sustainable. They focus on creating high-quality, durable items rather than mass-produced goods, which helps reduce waste. By supporting traditional craftsmanship, we protect this valuable knowledge and enable artisans to continue creating in ways that respect both cultural heritage and the environment.
At CasaLatina, we collaborate with artisans in Colombia and Venezuela whose work embodies this principle. Every piece—whether it’s werregue basketry or chamba ceramics—tells a story of resilience and respect for nature, creating decor that lasts in both form and meaning.

Second, natural materials and handmade artistry define true luxury. The choice of natural materials like fibres, clay, and wood reflects not only sustainability but also a commitment to authenticity and beauty. Handmade artistry takes these raw elements and transforms them into objects that honor their origins while serving a modern purpose. This fusion of natural resources and human skill defines luxury in today’s more environmentally conscious world.

CasaLatina’s handcrafted tableware and woven placemats illustrate this harmony, showcasing how natural materials and timeless design come together to create products that are both beautiful and meaningful.
Rooted in Nature
All Casalatina products are hand-crafted, using sustainable and predominantly locally-sourced materials. Every single item we create can be traced back to its artisan origin.
The natural materials used in CasaLatina’s sustainable tableware —fibers, clay, and wood—are a testament to the deep respect artisans hold for the environment. These pieces embody the balance between artistry and ecological preservation, honoring both the land and the hands that shape them.
CasaLatina's products are crafted using 97% natural and locally sourced materials.
We work with artisans to boost the use of renewable, recycled, and recyclable raw materials.

The Social Impact of Supporting Artisans
Every handmade, sustainable piece contributes to a larger story. By choosing our eco-friendly luxury tableware, you directly support artisans’ livelihoods, foster sustainability, and help preserve cultural heritage for future generations. Your choice empowers communities while championing artisanal skills in a modern world.
By supporting artisans, CasaLatina ensures their traditions thrive while empowering communities to innovate and adapt.

As London Design Week 2025 reminded us, traditional craftsmanship and the use of natural materials are at the heart of sustainability and true luxury. Let’s celebrate and support the artisans who bring beauty, heritage, and ecological harmony into our lives.
