The Dark Helecho Dinner Plate in Fern Green is the most considered piece in the collection — and the most technically demanding to make. Unlike the white-ground Helecho plates, this version carries a deep, rich Fern Green ground with the botanical fern wreath painted in white, creating an effect that feels closer to fine art than everyday tableware.

To achieve the depth and intensity of the coloured ground, each plate goes through the kiln three times rather than the standard two. It is a slower, more demanding process — one that requires a higher level of skill from the artisans in Carmen de Viboral and results in a glaze of exceptional richness and durability. The white fern wreath, applied freehand against the dark ground, appears almost luminous by contrast.

On the table, the Dark Helecho Fern Green is quietly commanding. It works beautifully alongside the white-ground Helecho plates for a layered, tonal tablescape, and pairs naturally with dark wood, aged brass and deep green botanicals. A plate that rewards close attention.

Microwave Safe: Suitable for everyday reheating and use in the microwave.
Oven Safe up to 180°C: Perfect for warming dishes or finishing recipes in the oven. Avoid sudden temperature shocks by bringing pieces to room temperature before heating.
