Hand-painted in the workshops of Carmen del Viboral, Colombia — the historic heart of Colombian ceramics — the Helecho French Butter Dish pairs a freehand botanical fern wreath with a practical French-style design that keeps butter soft and spreadable. Each piece is shaped, glazed and painted entirely by hand, the fern motif set against a crisp white ground in soft vintage rose.

A French butter dish keeps butter in the inverted lid, or “bell”, which presses into a little water held in the base to form an airtight seal — keeping butter fresh and spreadable at room temperature. As every piece is hand-painted, small variations in the fern motif are part of its character; no two are exactly alike.

Oven Safe up to 180°C: Perfect for warming dishes or finishing recipes in the oven. Avoid sudden temperature shocks by bringing pieces to room temperature before heating.
