The 'Dios de la Selva' statues are created by the indigenous peoples of the Amazon and are given as talismans to girls in the community upon reaching puberty. Each figure of the god symbolises a distinctive attribute that the community bestows upon the girl as she embarks upon her journey into womanhood.
Crafted out of tree bark and Balsa wood, these enchanting sculptures are meticulously hand-painted with natural dyes.
