The base of this placemat is made from natural iraca palm fibres, stained with natural dyes. These exquisite pieces were skilfully crafted in collaboration with the talented weavers in Sandoná , Nariño, demonstrating the exceptional talent required to transform the iraca palm fibres into stunning woven works of art. The beaded border is is inspired by the Chaquira necklaces are handwoven by the Embera Indigenous women from Risaralda. Literally jewellery for your table .

The town has become renowned for its skilled artisans who have mastered the art of weaving using the Iraca Palm, better known as Panama Hat straw.. This tradition has been passed down through generations of women, who gather in shared spaces to work together.
